Black Berry Z10 is the first smart phone by Blackberry which runs on  new BlackBerry 10 platform.

Packaging And Design:

The BlackBerry smartphone Z10 comes in a  pack with USB cable, AC adapter and Quick Reference Guide. Talking about the design of the phone, it is very simple and decent but quite attractive.  The phone comes in only black and white. The handset looks like iPhone due to the squared sides, rounded corners and solid feel in hand. It is easy and comfortable to carry.

On the top and bottom edges of the phone, soft touch Black plastic is there. The top edge has a speaker, status LED and a front facing camera. By pulling off the back cover of the phone, you can have access to battery, microSD card and SIM card slots. Micro USB port is on the left side. Metal volume buttons are located on the right side of the phone. The top edge has a metal power/wake button, 2nd microphone and a 3.5m m headphone jack.

Display:

The handset posses 4.2-inch, 1280 x 768 resolution LCD. the display is impressive and bright even in the sunlight. The viewing angles are all top notch.

Camera:
The BlackBerry Z10 has an 8 megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash. Also you can use to edit your images by adding filters, cropping, adjusting brightness, sharpness, etc. Even Indoor images are also quite decent.

Battery Life:

The smart phone posses 1,800mAh battery. Battery life has been pretty good. You can get full day to day and a half with one charge.

Hardware and Software:

BlackBerry Z10 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 SoC, with a dual-core 1.5GHz Krait CPU and Adreno 225 GPU. In terms of memory, the phone has a healthy 2GB of RAM, with 16GB storage space and microSD card slot. BlackBerry 10 operating system is built on the QNX platform.

You can see the lock screen which shows the current time, date, next event on your calendar and other notifications for new emails, text messages and other social media. BB10 Hub includes your emails, SMS, Facebook notifications. Also BB10 offers a number of special games such as Angry Birds, Asphalt 7, NOVA 3, Jetpack Joyride, Riptide GP, Super Hexagon, etc.  You have all your basic apps such as WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Gaana app(Indian app) is also on the store.  BB10 also supports Android apps.

After Xperia Z, Sony has launched a new smart phone Xperia ZR which is no doubt amazing. It includes all the features of Sony Xperia Z. 5G mobile communications technology is the next generation of the existing 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network technology. 5G will be capable of providing a ubiquitous Gbps experience to subscribers anywhere and offers data transmission speeds of up to several tens of Gbps per base station.

“The millimeter-wave band is the most effective solution to recent surges in wireless internet usage,” said ChangYeong Kim, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics and Head of Digital Media & Communication (DMC) R&D Center. “Samsung’s recent success in developing the adaptive array transceiver technology has brought us one step closer to the commercialization of 5G mobile communications in the millimeter-wave bands.”

Samsung Secures Millimeter-Wave Transceiver Technologies for 5G Cellular Networks

The implementation of a high-speed 5G cellular network requires a broad band of frequencies, much like an increased water flow requires a wider pipe. While it was a recognized option, it has been long believed that the millimeter-wave bands had limitations in transmitting data over long distances due to its unfavorable propagation characteristics.

However, Samsung’s new adaptive array transceiver technology has proved itself as a successful solution. It transmits data in the millimeter-wave band at a frequency of 28 GHz at a speed of up to 1.056 Gbps to a distance of up to 2 kilometers. The adaptive array transceiver technology, using 64 antenna elements, can be a viable solution for overcoming the radio propagation loss at millimeter-wave bands, much higher than the conventional frequency bands ranging from several hundred MHz to several GHz.

Samsung plans to accelerate the research and development of 5G mobile communications technologies, including adaptive array transceiver at the millimeter-wave bands, to commercialize those technologies by 2020.

Samsung Draws the World Closer to New Era of Mobile Communications

Samsung’s latest innovation is expected to invigorate research into 5G cellular communications across the world; the company believes it will trigger the creation of international alliances and the timely commercialization of related mobile broadband services.

The competition for technology leadership in next-generation mobile communications development is getting increasingly fierce. China established a government-led “IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group” for 5G research in February 2012, while the European Commission also plans to invest 50 million Euros in 2013 to bring 5G services to the market by 2020.

Once commercialized, 5G mobile communications technology will be capable of ultra-high-speed data transmission up to several hundred times faster than even the 4G LTE-Advanced technology due for launch later this year.

Samsung’s new technology will allow users to transmit massive data files including high quality digital movies practically without limitation. As a result, subscribers will be able to enjoy a wide range of services such as 3D movies and games, real-time streaming of ultra high-definition (UHD) content, and remote medical services.
